Kevin Chase - Research Activities

I do research in statistical nuclear fragmentation in the Rutgers theoretical nuclear physics group with my advisor, Professer Aram Mekjian. We use an exactly solvable recursive model for fragmentation to predict the outcome of intermediate energy nuclear collisions. This model predicts the existence of a Bose-Einstein like phase transition for nuclear matter. Evidence for such a phase transition in experiments is growing, and our simplified model competes with percolation theoretic models in explaining current experimental data.
